Philosophy

Nursing is a profession, which is influenced by advances in services and technology. So, nurses need to evaluate the curriculum periodically and make the required changes, both in theory and practice for providing better and ethical care.
We believe that care with skill and scientific knowledge would help to alleviate the standards of hospital services at all times in curing, promoting, restoring health and updating professional conduct.
Practice within the framework of Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and Acceptable Standards of Practice within the Legal Boundaries.
Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the Health Team in order to promote Effective Interpersonal Relationships and Team Work.
Demonstrate skills in Teaching to individuals and groups in Clinical / Community health settings
The basic course in nursing is a formal educational preparation which should be based on sound educational principles as the foundation on which the practice of nursing is built, and on which further education depends.

Objectives

The nurses on completion of this course will be able to:-

Meet the health care challenges of new Millennium.
Assess the nursing needs of client from birth to death.
Plan and implement appropriate nursing actions with the view to meet nursing needs.
Provide effective nursing care for maintaining best possible level of health in all aspects.
Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care provided.
Apply problem solving techniques necessary in nursing practices.
Provide preventive health care services to the people.
Apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioural sciences in functioning as a nurse.
Provide an educational programme through which the graduates will be prepared to assume responsibility in the primary, secondary, and tertiary care of people as professional nurses.
Prepare graduates to teach and supervise in the appropriate nursing and health care settings and participate in the administration of nursing service and education.
Ensure that the nurse achieves an all round development so that he/she is able to meet the needs of the individual, family, community, and society, thus making him/her an asset to society.
Promote teaching and learning process in the classroom as well as in the clinical area through appropriate supervision and ongoing evaluation based on well defined criteria.

Basic B.Sc. Nursing

SEATS: 35
DURATION: 4 Years

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
A candidate seeking admission to the Basic B.Sc. nursing course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) Board with group ‘B’ or group ‘AB’ with minimum 45% and must have attended the age of not less than 17 years.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
The admission procedure for the students in B.Sc. is done through Central admission committee of Gujarat State and seats are allotted based on merit list prepared by committee.
The admission form completed in all respects, together with necessary documents should be submitted to the admission section.

FEES STRUCTURE:

FIRST YEAR B.Sc. NURSING : As decided by Fees Regulatory Committee ( FRC )
SECOND YEAR B.Sc. NURSING : As decided by Fees Regulatory Committee ( FRC )

General Nursing And Midwifery [G.N.M]

DURATION: 3 Years

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
A candidate seeking admission to the ANM course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) Board either science stream or general stream with English must have attended the age of not less than 17 years and not more than 35 years.
